NCAA Requirements for the College Athlete
Students planning to enroll in college as a freshman and participate in Division I or Division II athletics must be certified by the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse. This involves completing and sending a Student Release Form along with a fee. These forms along with the complete Clearinghouse requirements can be accessed via their Website. The Clearing House also requires official transcripts, ACT or SAT scores, and verification of graduation to be sent by the school. Brochures and forms are available in the Guidance Office and should be initiated as soon as possible during the junior or senior year. Some courses taken outside the regular MHS schedule may not be accepted by NCAA. It is recommended that students sign up for the Clearinghouse by the end of their Junior year.
The NCAA Clearing Houses’ recognition of course requirements may differ from the criteria for College or University.
