Robotics Team
The Marana High School Robotics Team was ranked in the Top 10 in the WORLD for Rookie teams in 2018, with the top Robot in vault points at AZ West Regional. The team has already received invitations for other competitions in the US.
The Robotics Team at Marana High School formed during the 2017-2018 school year in November with approximately twenty-five students filling various roles including programmers, designers, mechanical, electrical, media, website designers, CAD drawers, and community outreach coordinators. They started to build the robot itself this January and, in just six weeks, it was ready for action. In that short time, the students built and programmed a four-wheeled robot that is capable of picking up objects and putting them in goals.
Students are learning electronics, mechanical engineering and computer-aided design in the Team. Students also manage marketing and business aspects. These responsibilities include planning future events, finding sponsors and managing the budget.
