Zoie Sentz & Cristina Dominguez-Cota: Early Childhood and Tiger Cub Learning Center Teachers at MHS and MUSD Alumni

  • Zoie Sentz: Marana Middle School (completed in 2011), Marana High School (Graduated Class of 2016)

  • Cristina Dominguez Cota: Coyote Trail (completed in 2011); Marana Middle School (completed in 2013); Marana High School (Graduated Class of 2017)

From our early days as students in Marana schools to now leading and teaching within the district, our passion for education was shaped by one extraordinary person, Alissa Morris, our beloved “G.”

G was never just a teacher to us. She was the heart of Marana High School’s Early Childhood Education program and a constant source of patience, compassion, and unwavering support. Her classroom was a safe space where we felt encouraged, valued, and inspired to grow and learn.

Through her guidance, we discovered not only our love for working with children but also what it truly means to be a teacher. She modeled dedication and care in a way that left a lasting impact which would lay the groundwork for the path we would eventually follow.

Today, we both have the honor of carrying on her legacy. Leading the Early Childhood Education program and the Tiger Cub Learning Center, the very place where our passion first began, is an experience that feels both meaningful and surreal. Every day, we strive to create the same supportive and inspiring environment that G gave us.
