MUSD High School Students Thrive in Town of Marana Internship Program
Students from Mountain View High School and Marana High School have benefited from the Town of Marana internship program, where they gained hands-on experience working alongside local professionals in real jobs for the Town. Working in Town of Marana departments including Facilities, Water, Fleet, and Development Services, students have gained useful lifelong skills, exposure to jobs and possible future careers, and the opportunity to be involved with their local communities. The internship program offers a wide range of useful on-the-job training.
“It's been a lot of learning and a lot of useful skills that I am going to need when I get out of high school,” said Erik Olea, MUSD student. “Not only are these students learning different trades and aspects of this type of employment, but they are also learning social skills that may be beneficial for them in the future.”
Since launching the program, two students have been hired as full-time employees with the Town of Marana.
