My journey into education began with a love for language and a passion formaking a difference in young lives. A decade ago, I embarked on my teaching career as a Spanish Immersion Teacher, which laid the foundation for a deeply fulfilling career in education. I have spent the past seven years at a Montessori school within TUSD, where I not only continued to refine my teaching but also took on various leadership roles. This path eventually led me to pursue a Master’s in Educational Leadership at Arizona State University (though I’m still a Wildcat at heart from my undergrad days!).

Transitioning to Marana Unified School District has been driven by my desire to make a meaningful impact in the community where my two children attend school.

I am deeply passionate about providing a nurturing, rigorous learning environment for our students and I am eager to collaborate with Marana High School's dedicated staff, students, and families to uphold our standards of academic excellence, innovation, and student well-being. It's an honor to contribute to our students' educational paths and help shape the leaders of tomorrow!

I am very excited to continue of the MHS family.  I am a Marana alumni and have thoroughly enjoyed growing up in the Marana district. I am extremely thrilled to be able to serve and give back to the community that has provided me with so much love and fond memories. I received my bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the UofA and my Master’s in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. I also have a Post-Bachelor’s degree in Cross-Categorical Special Education.

I have an amazing husband (also from Marana) who provided me with the perfect stepson. We have three adorable loving dogs and we just enjoy being together as a family. Most of my and my husband’s family continues to live and work in Marana. It has been and always will be our home.

I am honored and privileged to continue on with the Tiger family as an Associate Principal for the 2024-2025 school year. I am excited to start my fourth year in the MUSD district. Currently, I serve the MHS Tiger community as Athletic Director and Associate Principal overseeing operations and maintenance.

I was born and raised in a small town outside of Buffalo, New York. After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as an F-16 Crew Chief before being honorably discharged in 2006. It was my love of the southwest that landed me at the University of Arizona where I earned my degree in education. Since then, I have been a resident of the Marana community, been blessed with two boys, and earned a graduate degree from NAU in school leadership.

I strongly believe in the partnership between families and the school that serves them. It is my commitment to ensure your student and student athlete receives a positive and quality learning experience that Marana High School is known for. I am passionate about working collaboratively, fostering positive relationships, and helping students shape their future.

As Associate Principal, Jon Schubel oversees Operations and Athletics.

I am thrilled to join the Tiger family as an Associate Principal for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. With 25 years of experience in education, my educational journey began at Arizona State University, where I earned my B.A. in Secondary Education, M.A.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction, and M.A. Ed in Pre-K - 12 Administration Supervision.

Over the years, I have held various roles in education, including serving as a Law Magnet Program Manager/Law Teacher in Phoenix, Teen Court Coordinator for Maricopa County Juvenile Court, Vice Principal of Student Services, and a K-8 principal in Tucson. Most recently, I have returned to the classroom at Marana High School, teaching Criminal Justice/Law and Public Safety. Moving to Marana, I aimed to further develop my leadership skills in the Marana Unified School District and Marana High School.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of meeting remarkable women in history such as Justice Sandra Day O’Connor and Dr. Madeline Albright. I have been recognized for my dedication to law-related education with awards such as the John J. Ross Award for Teacher Excellence in Law-Related Education in 2004 and 2009, Recognition of Outstanding Contributions to Maricopa County Juvenile Probation Teen Court Programs in 2006, and National Board Certification in 2012.

I am excited to bring my experience and passion for education to Marana High School, where I am committed to building partnerships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and the community. I aim to ensure that every student graduates with a clear path toward future goals and career success.

My wonderful husband and I have been married for 30 years with three amazing adult children. We look forward to spending our time with our family camping, hiking, and laughing.

I am honored to be part of the Marana High School family. I began working in MUSD in Jan 2004 as a substitute aide and teacher. In 2011, I accepted a full-time position as an instructional interventionist at MHS and began teaching Biology the following year. In the last 13 years, I have served Marana High School as a Collaborative Team Lead, Instructional Leadership team member, Grading Attendance Committee member, Community Coalition member, Attendance Assistant to the Principal, and a PBIS Facilitator. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with and living in our MHS community for the last 20 years. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland University College, my teaching certificate from Pima Community College, and my master’s degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University.

I am married to a wonderful husband and we share four grown children. We have three grandchildren; two granddaughters and a grandson who keep us busy. My husband and I are huge University of Arizona fans. We are football season ticket holders and attend as many basketball and hockey games as we can. We are avid bicyclists and have ridden in the Tour de Tucson three times. Whenever we can, we love to travel. This summer we visited Glacier National Park. My favorite was the trip to Sydney, Australia. No matter where we go, I love coming home to Marana.

As the Assistant to the Principal, Tina Pattengale oversees Student Attendance and PBIS.
