My journey into education began with a love for language and a passion formaking a difference in young lives. A decade ago, I embarked on my teaching career as a Spanish Immersion Teacher, which laid the foundation for a deeply fulfilling career in education. I have spent the past seven years at a Montessori school within TUSD, where I not only continued to refine my teaching but also took on various leadership roles. This path eventually led me to pursue a Master’s in Educational Leadership at Arizona State University (though I’m still a Wildcat at heart from my undergrad days!).

Transitioning to Marana Unified School District has been driven by my desire to make a meaningful impact in the community where my two children attend school.

I am deeply passionate about providing a nurturing, rigorous learning environment for our students and I am eager to collaborate with Marana High School's dedicated staff, students, and families to uphold our standards of academic excellence, innovation, and student well-being. It's an honor to contribute to our students' educational paths and help shape the leaders of tomorrow!

I am honored to serve as the Associate Principal and Athletic Director at Marana High School. During the second semester of the 2024–2025 school year, I began my administrative journey as the Dean of Students, gaining valuable experience and insight into school leadership.

With 27 years of experience in education, my journey began at The University of Akron in Ohio, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Coaching and Sports Science. While living in northeastern Ohio, I held various leadership roles, including serving as the Physical Education and Health Department Chair at Nordonia High School for 21 years. My passion for leadership eventually led me to pursue an additional Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.

I joined the Marana Tiger Family in 2025 and am thrilled to serve the Marana Unified School District in the community where I live and where my two daughters attend school. My husband, a former football and baseball player at The University of Akron, played and coached professional baseball and now serves as a scout for the Baltimore Orioles. As a family, we enjoy attending our daughters’ softball events, traveling in our RV, watching movies, working out together, enjoying sunsets, and exploring Tucson.

I was raised in Jewett, Ohio, a rural farm town near the West Virginia panhandle where I developed a lifelong love of athletics. I earned a full Division I scholarship to play basketball at The University of Akron and later went on to coach 20 varsity seasons in girls basketball, softball, and golf. I am proud to bring this background and experience into my role as Athletic Director at Marana High School.

As Associate Principal and Athletic Director, I am committed to fostering meaningful partnerships with students, families, faculty, staff, and community. I look forward to continuing to serve the Marana Tiger Family and supporting our students, teachers, and coaches in achieving their highest potential.

I am eager and proud to serve as the Dean of Students for Marana High School for the 2025-2026 school year. As a former educator, restorative facilitator, and Dean of Students for schools in California and Arizona I believe that all students deserve the opportunity to receive a quality education in an environment that encourages independence as well as cooperation, and that environment is created from a foundation of safety.

Every student is unique with their own set of circumstances, and I do my absolute best to guide students in feeling safe and ready to learn by using empathy to understand these circumstances. Holding a master's degree in Restorative Practices has enabled me to connect with students, staff, and parents in ways that build positive relationships for successful interactions and outcomes, which I believe is a key part of maintaining a strong community.  My passion is teaching students problem-solving skills that reach outside of school for social success, and this greatly impacts academic success within school bounds.

Personally, my husband and I just welcomed our new baby girl into the world, and want her to be embedded in the wonderful community of Marana. As the Dean of Students I am honored to collaborate with this community and serve its students effectively. I look forward to working with you!
